All RPO engagements follow three key phases with associated retained fees:

1. Discovery & Workforce Planning Assess hiring needs, map workforce gaps, define role profiles, and design recruiting strategy. Includes talent mapping, benchmarking, and market analysis. 30–35% of total engagement fee (billed upfront)
2. Candidate Identification & Delivery Sourcing, screening, and presenting candidates for all actively open roles. Regular reporting, shortlisting, and pipeline management. 30–35% of total engagement fee (billed at milestone delivery)
3. Successful Hiring Completion Support through offer negotiation, onboarding, and closure for hired candidates. 30–35% of total engagement fee (billed per hire completion)

1. Full-Service (End-to-End) RPO

Fee: 22–25% of first-year salary per hire.

Payment structure:

Discovery & Launch: 33%

Candidate Delivery: 33%

Hiring Completion: 34%

Example: 10 hires, avg $160K salary → Total Fee $352K–$400K

2. Project-Based RPO

Project fee based on expected hires:

5–10 hires → $150K–$250K

10–20 hires → $250K–$500K

20+ hires → Custom

Payment milestones: 1/3 upfront, 1/3 candidate delivery, 1/3 completion

3. Discovery / Talent Mapping

Ideal for companies preparing for future hiring.

Flat fee:

  • Talent market map: $15K–$20K
  • Executive talent mapping: $20K–$35K
  • If an individual/one-off hire occurs: placement fee of 27.5%, with discovery fee credited toward it.

Discovery / Talent Mapping Notes: For organizations preparing to hire, ETSP provides strategic market intelligence and talent mapping. This is a flat-fee engagement for upfront research and analysis. If a hire occurs, the discovery fee is credited toward the 27.5% placement fee. This model allows companies to benefit from ETSP’s expertise before committing to a full RPO engagement. This model is a hybrid of retained and contingency, providing upfront market intelligence while preserving margin on potential hires.
